Fabulous Fifties & – Northern Lights Show 2003
This year's Northern Lights Awards Show is titled the "Fabulous Fifties" featuring a variety of musical and dance, celebrating the 50's decade.


The event is Saturday, September 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Williams Auditorium on the campus of FSU.


Produced and directed by Barbara Pillsbury, the program uses the music of the fifties to punctuate the

presentation of seven community achievement awards in the Arts, Business and Industry, Civics, Education, the Environment, Health and Human Services and Sports.


You may purchase tickets for $10 at the door, at Mecosta County General Hospital, from a MCGH Foundation member or on-line at www.ferris.edu/arts.

Recent Physician Achievements


Sudhir Rao, M.D., recently received Board Certification in Orthopaedic Surgery from The American Academy of Neurological and Orthopaedic Surgery (AANOS).

This certification recognizes achievement, proficiency, and excellence in medicine and surgery. Colleagues nationwide recognize this day-long oral and written examination assuring that proper training and credentialing are up to standards. Dr. Rao previously completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery and has undergone additional fellowship training in Hand Surgery, Pediatric Orthopaedics, and Knee Surgery.

Ralph Crew, D.O. was recognized in June 2003 as the Ophthalmology Faculty Educator of the Year by the Medical Education Department at Metropolitan Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Dr. Crew has worked with Ophthalmology residents in Grand Rapids for 13 years and plans to continue as an educator. He has taken several mission trips with his residents to foreign countries – the most recent being a trip to the Dominican Republic.

Julie Boss, D.O. recently won first place for a resident essay on Otolaryngology/Facial Plastic Surgery through the American Osteopathic College of Ophthalmology.
