MCMC Therapists Receive Training for LSVT® BIG and LOUD

Mecosta County Medical Center is pleased to announce that Ruth Wissink, PT and Peggy Brennan, MA CCC-SLP, CBIS of the Outpatient Therapy Department have received training for LSVT® BIG and LOUD therapy. LSVT® BIG and LOUD provides innovative speech and whole body treatment to improve the quality of life of the neurologically impaired, including those with Parkinson disease. This treatment enables patients to communicate and move more effectively and safely.(

) Joe, a patient in MCMC’s Outpatient Therapy Department, attests to the significance of the therapy, “I have more confidence and an increased ability to walk and talk. I talk more because people understand me and no longer feel like I am going to fall when walking. I can even keep up with my wife at the grocery store.”(

) LSVT® BIG and LOUD training is a 2 day course for Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapists. Training provides hands-on treatment and efficacy data supporting treatment outcomes. Treatment focuses on maintaining and improving mobility, communication and swallowing skills. (
