New CEO of Mecosta Health Services

   News Release: 4/1/2010

MECOSTA HEALTH SERVICES announces the addition of Cheryl K. Pierre, new CEO. Over the course of more than twenty years, Cheryl Pierre has developed a sharp eye for how health care can get bogged down with inefficiencies, cross-purposes and miscommunication. Furthermore, how health care facilities can take advantage of opportunities to retool for a sleeker, smoother, strategically focused organization. Cheryl is an executive with an unusually broad base of experience including physician practice management, hospital operations, and finance.

Born and raised in West Michigan, she began her professional career in Denver Colorado with CyCare Systems, moved onto Kalamazoo with Borgess Medical Center, and then to Chrondalet Health System in Tucson Arizona. While at Metro Health Hospital, as the Director of Business Improvement & Integration, she served on the Internal Review Board, directed HIPPA policy, developed a system-wide productivity management system, and excelled at building cohesive teams and streamlining operations. Her latest appointment is with Spectrum Health Medical Group where she serves as the Regional Director for the physicians located to the North of Grand Rapids, MI.

While attending Cornerstone University for her undergraduate and Masters in Business Administration, Cheryl received the Outstanding Leadership Award. As a strong believer in community, she dedicates spare time to serve as a leader for Girl Talk at Martin Luther King Junior High School, volunteering at outreach events, and serving as treasurer of the Sand Lake West Shore Lake Association.
